Final Score (12 Innings):

NYY 5
TB 1

The Yankees are able to snag victory in the 12th and prevent a three-game losing skid.

There was little offense through the first eleven innings, but similar to Friday night’s game, one team opened up a big lead late and this time it was too much for the Rays to come back from.

Inexperienced starter Vidal Nuno was impressive in his first start of the season, allowing no runs in five innings pitched.

The Yankees bullpen was also impressive, allowing no earned runs. The lone run allowed was attributed to an error by Brian Roberts, who fumbled the ball in an attempt to turn a double play.

The Yankees now own the division lead while the Rays fall to two games back.

From here, New York heads to Boston for a three-game series while Tampa Bay remains home to take on the Twins
