The Yankees (94-53) begin a three-game set with the all-but-eliminated Seattle Mariners (76-71) tonight.
Head-to-Head
The Yanks have already taken three out of four in Seattle this season, and have won five out of seven overall.
Series Preview
Date: | Yankees starters | Mariners starters |
Fri., 10:10 p.m. | A.J. Burnett (11-9, 4.33) | Hernandez (15-5, 2.52) |
Sat., 10:10 p.m. | CC Sabathia (17-7, 3.42) | Doug Fister (2-2, 3.53) |
Sun., 4:10 p.m. | Chamberlain (8-5, 4.39) | Ian Snell (6-10, 5.17) |
My Outlook
The Yanks cannot take this team lightly. The M’s still have the best ERA in the American League, and Felix “The Cat” Hernandez and Doug Fister are two of their best. Friday and Sunday mark key starts for Burnett and Chamberlain. Burnett has returned to his incredibly inconsistent ways since August, and every start is important for Chamberlain here on out.
Remaining opponents weighted winning percentage: 52.3 percent
Magic Number: 10
