In the opener of a four-game series between the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays at Yankee Stadium, the Rays have won 8-3. The two teams sit in third and fourth place, respectively, in the AL East.

Andy Pettitte struggled on the mound for the Bronx Bombers, giving up five earned runs in 6.2 IPMatt Moore looked great through five innings for Tampa Bay, but was roughed up in the 6th, finishing with a line of three earned runs in 6.1 IP.

One of the biggest story lines in tonight’s game was Wil Myers, the Tampa Bay super-prospect acquired in the James Shields deal with the Royals. He finished 1-5. This was the right fielder’s fourth MLB game, and though he didn’t light things up like Yasiel Puig, we saw flashes of his talent tonight.

Both teams will be back tomorrow evening at 7:05 ET for the second game of the series. I’ll be covering that one, as well, and hope that you’ll tune in then. Thanks to everyone who followed the feed tonight!
