The All-Star Game is still being played like it doesn’t count, which makes it extra boring.
So these past couple of days seem, to me at least, like the slowest days of the summer.
The Yankees are back tonight though as they start the second half off in a big way against the Tampa Rays.
Here are some notes.
- Tune in at 6:45pm today so you don’t miss the pre-game ceremonies for both George Steinbrenner and Bob Sheppard.
- Sheppard’s funeral was yesterday and none of the Yankees bothered to show up for it.
- Here is an article making the argument that it really isn’t a big deal.
- Old-Timers Day is tomorrow. Here is the list of ex-Yankees expected to show up.
- Finally, there is a group looking to have “The Bat” relocated from its place near the Old Stadium next to the new one.
That’s all for this morning. Stay tuned though, as we’ll bring you more throughout the day.
