Ubaldo Jimenez turned the heads of baseball fans across the country in 2010 with a Cy Young calibre season.
Although this season the heads have been turning the other way for the most part, his production has increased greatly as he now posts an even 4.00 ERA, and has thrown 108 K’s in 117 innings of work.
Despite a bad start to 2011, the Yankees would love to acquire Jimenez to use in the third or fourth spot in the rotation, and, if he continues to pitch like he has of late, we could see him as high in the rotation as second.
He will cost New York some of their coveted prospective talent, but their is no shortage of that in their farm system and knowing what Jimenez is capable of doing might be enough for the Yankees to dish out some big minor league names like Jesus Montero and/or Manny Banuelos
