The Yankees have had a solid start to the 2010 season thus far, and seem to be starting to heat up again.
Entering tonight’s game against the Orioles, the Yanks have posted a 32-20 record, and have won six of their last ten, coming off of a terrible 14 game stretch where they lost nine of those games.
A key part of the Yankees winning equation is their perseverance, considering they have missed time from Jorge Posada, Curtis Granderson, and Nick Johnson this season, all of whom were every day starters in the lineup. Not to mention Mark Teixeira’s season long slump.
They have also struggled through several tough starts for Javy Vazquez, as well as a couple bullpen lapses.
But the players mentioned on this list have helped them overcome those injuries and slumps, keeping the Bronx Bombers within striking distance of the Tampa Bay Rays, who have held a firm grip on first place in the east for quite a while now.
