The health of Jorge Posada has pretty much become a day-to-day thing. He’s had to deal with the recovery of a broken foot, a cyst in the back of his knee, and now his surgically repaired shoulder has been bothering him.

Last night, for instance, Posada’s shoulder got so bad that the Yankees wouldn’t use him as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning with the tying run in scoring position. So it’s big news that he’s not only in the starting lineup today, but he’s actually starting behind the plate as well.

Here is tonight’s lineup:

Jeter SS
Swisher RF
Thames DH
Rodriguez 3B
Cano 2B
Posada C
Kearns LF
Berkman 1B
Gardner CF

The Yankees also signed a pair of draft picks today, infielder Rob Segedin and right-handed pitcher Dan Burawa. Segedin, the third round pick, signed for $377,500 or about $108,000 over slot. Burawa signed for $300,000, which is about double the rate for a 12th round draft pick.

You can read our draft day profile for Segedin here and our draft day profile for Burawa here.
