A.J. Burnett (9-9, 4.93) will be taking the mound against C.J. Wilson (10-5, 3.30) and the Texas Rangers in just a little while.
Here are some notes:
- Robinson Cano is out of tonight’s lineup with a cold. Ramiro Pena will be in the lineup in his place.
- Curtis Granderson has a .206 AVG and a .518 OPS against lefties so he’s sitting against Texas’ lefty tonight.
- Jorge Posada caught the last three games in a row so he’s getting a night off and because the Yankees are facing a lefty, Marcus Thames is in the lineup as the DH.
- William Charles Teixeira was born today which means his dad, Mark Teixeira, is out of the lineup. He’s expected back on Thursday.
What do these notes mean? The Yankees lineup is going to suck tonight. Here it is:
Jeter, SS
Swisher, RF
Thames, DH
A-Rod, 3B
Kearns, LF
Berkman, 1B
Cervelli, C
Gardner, CF
Pena, 2B
