The All-Star game was last night and the Yankees played a big role in the American League’s loss to the National League 3-1.
Here are some notes:
- Robinson Cano drove in the AL’s only run with a sac fly.
- Phil Hughes got the loss.
- Joe Girardi managed like it was March as he left the game’s slowest runner to get thrown out at second on a base hit in the 9th inning.
- Alex Rodriguez did not play.
- The Yankees wore a couple of patches in honor of George Steinbrenner and Bob Sheppard .
- Minor league RHP Adam Warren was promoted to Double-A Trenton. He was 7-5 with a 2.22 ERA in 15 starts in Single-A this year.
The All-Star game is a joke. It’s boring and the managers treat it like a Little League game. Maybe if they took it seriously it would actually be fun.
Also, George Steinbrenner’s patch looks like it was made by a high schooler. Sheppard’s patch definitely outshines his.
