Yankees Notes: A-Rod, Joba, Hal, and Favorite Moments

The Yankees are off again today. They will start a three game series against the Tampa Rays tomorrow with their ace C.C. Sabathia on the hill.
Here are some notes:
- Apparently part of the reason why Alex Rodriguez didn’t play in the All-Star Game had to do with a mild thumb injury.
- Joba Chamberlain has been voted the most overrated player in baseball. I’m not sure who thinks Joba is especially good right now though.
- There also seems to be a faction of fans that are wondering what the post-Boss Yankees will look like. They’ll look a lot like the 2009 team that Hal Steinbrenner put together.
- Also, Hal doesn’t appear to have any desire to sell the team in the wake of his father’s death.
- River Ave Blues is asking fans what their favorite first half moment was. Mine was Phil Hughes flirting with a no-hitter way back in April. CC’s no-no bid against the Rays wasn’t on RAB’s list, but that game was up there for me. A-Rod’s grand slam against the Twins was also pretty big.
My father is among those convinced that it is only a matter of time before Hal and Hank Steinbrenner sell the team. I hope he’s wrong, but it is good to know that at least for right now nothing is going to change.
