After a day off, the Yankees and Red Sox resumed their opening series last night at Fenway. A.J. Burnett and Boston’s Jon Lester took the mound for their teams but neither pitcher was particularly sharp in this contest. • Win. It’s always good to get the first win of the season out of the way and, after the opening night loss, the Yankees needed this one.
• Robinson Cano. Cano has started off nicely in the No. 5 spot in this lineup. He continues to swing a hot bat and after two games, he is batting .500. Last night Cano was 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two runs scored, and two runs batted in.
