New York Yankee Fans Are FINALLY Starting To Appreciate Alex Rodriguez

It appears that Alex Rodriguez has finally been accepted by Yankee fans.
FINALLY?
You mean that 36 home runs and 106 RBI’s in 2004 wasn’t enough?
Forty-eight home runs, 130 RBI’s and an MVP award in 2005 wasn’t enough?
Thirty-five home runs and 121 RBI’s in 2006 wasn’t enough?
Fifty-four home runs, 156 RBI’s and another MVP award in 2007 wasn’t enough?
And 35 home runs and 103 RBI’s in 2008 wasn’t enough?
Now, up until just a few weeks ago, A-Rod had a tendency to transform from a thoroughbred in September into a dog in October.
I get it. The guy has not performed well for the Yankees in the postseason.
However, a very easy argument could be made that the Yankees would have never even advanced to the post season in recent years had A-Rod not spent six months of the season completely decimating American League pitching.
There was also that little steroid incident. But come one now, this is Major League Baseball we’re talking about here. You’re not a true superstar these days unless you’ve at least experimented with PEDS at one time or another.
Plain and simple, Yankee fans have had the honor of watching a player for the past six years that will undoubtedly go down as one of if not the greatest player in the history of the game.
The guy has done everything short of pulling a Steve Nebraska since slipping into a Yankee uniform.
Yet, it wasn’t enough.
Only now, as A-Rod is putting together one of the best postseasons the game has ever seen, are Yankee fans finally beginning to accept him into the Yankee family.
Tradearod.com has miraculously disappeared from the Internet in recent weeks.
Those ten thousand dollar suits A-Rod turns up in every day are now considered to be “stylish.”
Kate Hudson has gone from being Yoko Ono to the greatest thing to happen to the Yankees since the team purchased a gentleman by the name of Babe Ruth from the debt ridden Boston Red Sox in 1919.
Now, Yankee fans and the word “Loyal” rarely appear together in the same sentence.
You Google the question “What have you done for me lately?” and a picture of a guy sitting in the upper deck wearing a Yankee cap is the first image to appear.
It’s nice to see that Yankee fans are finally starting to appreciate A-Rod.
But is it too little, too late?
