When Alex Rodriguez’s pop-up fell out of the glove of Luis Castillo and Mark Teixeira scored the winning run, the Yankees stormed the field in celebratory fashion, mobbing Luis Castillo.
“We all were so psyched that he won the game for us we had to give him the traditional ‘walk-off mob.'” said Yankees outfielder Johnny Damon.
Alex Rodriguez was the first to congratulate him. “We couldn’t have won the game without him,” he told reporters afterward.
