There were questions about how the New York Yankees were going to line up their rotation going into to the American League Championship Series against the Detroit Tigers, but now those have been answered.

For Game 2, the Yankees will put Hiroki Kuroda on the mound on three days’ rest. Dan Schulman of ESPN broke the news via Twitter:

Kuroda has been arguably the team’s most consistent starter this season, so starting him on short rest appears to be a good decision by manager Joe Girardi.

Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com tweeted a quote from Kuroda regarding how he feels about pitching on short rest:

Kuroda has not recorded a decision in two career starts against Detroit, though he sports an impressive 3.38 ERA coming into the game.

Girardi also announced that Phil Hughes will start Game 3 and ALDS hero CC Sabathia Game 4, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.

With Sabathia pitching Game 4, he’ll likely be available in an emergency situation in a possible Game 7.

The Yankees and the Tigers get underway at 8 p.m Saturday in what figures to be an exciting series.
